What is Smart Hubo

Smart Hubo is an NZTA approved RUC automation solution for heavy vehicles. It replaces mechanical hubometers with a more cost effective system that reduces admin, improves accuracy, and helps protect your fleet from audits and fines.

How Smart Hubo works

1. The Smart Hubo Wheel Sensor is mounted on the vehicle wheel to record distance travelled.
2. When the vehicle returns to base, the wheel sensor transmits the distance data to the Smart Hubo Gate Reader. The sensor must be within 30 metres of the Gate Reader for successful transmission.
3. The Gate Reader uploads the distance data to the Argus Tracking portal.
4. The Smart Hubo Display Screen displays the latest eRUC information inside the vehicle.

Refer to the article How to Set Up and Manage Smart eRUC for step by step instructions. Smart eRUC is designed for light vehicles, however the setup process within the Argus Dashboard is the same for Smart Hubo.

This includes configuring auto purchase settings, selecting RUC units, and setting the remaining kilometre threshold for automatic repurchase before expiry.
