Notification Types

Within the Argus Dashboard, you have the capability to configure a range of notifications, ensuring you stay connected and well-informed about your fleet. These notifications cover everything from real-time updates to critical alerts, enabling fleet managers to be proactive with their fleet management. 

Explore each notification type and its impact on streamlined operations below.

Notification Types: 

  • Battery Critical 
    This alert will notify a user when an Asset Tracker battery is low and running out of charge. It is estimated that the device has enough charge to last 2 days or less at one ping per day.

  • Battery Needs Replacing
    This alert will notify a user when an Asset Tracker battery has very little charge left and needs replacing. It is estimated that the device has enough charge to last 2 weeks or less at one ping per day.

  • Check Sheet Failed Alert
    This alert will notify a user when a vehicle has failed a Check Sheet. 

  • Check Sheet Overdue
    This alert will be triggered 3 day after the due date of a check sheet, if the check sheet has not yet been submitted.

  • Check Sheet Reminder 
    A reminder for assets and drivers 2 days before, and on the due date of the check sheet.

  • Custom Input (PTOs) 
    This alert is for fleets that have additional accessories (e.g. PTOs) connected to their tracking units.

  • Drivers Licence Expiry
    Keep your fleet compliant and reduce driver downtime effectively by receiving alerts 4 weeks before your driver's licenses expire. 
  • GPS Unit Offline
    This will notify a user in real-time when a tracking device has gone offline. 

  • EV Low Battery Alert
    This alert will notify the user when the EV's battery falls below a certain percentage. This alert currently only applies to Geotab devices.
  • Impact Alert (Impact Sensor)
    If your tracking devices are connected to Impact Sensors, this alert will notify users when an asset has been impacted and may require emergency assistance.

  • Odometer Calibration Alert and Hubodometer Calibration Alert:
    These alerts will notify Smart ERUC users if it has been X days since the customer updated the Odometer or Hubodometer (via the check sheet or web app).



  • Overspeed Alert
    This alert will notify a user in real-time when a vehicle surpasses the posted speed limit. You can configure this alert so that the notification is generated when a vehicle goes X km over the posted speed limit. For example, the below alert will only be generated when a vehicle surpasses the speed limit by more than 15 km/h.

  • Rollover Alert (Rollover Sensors) 
    If your tracking devices are connected to Rollover Sensors, this alert will notify users when an asset has rolled over and may require emergency assistance.

  • SOS Alert (Panic Buttons)
    If your assets are fitted with Panic Buttons, this alert will notify a user when a Panic Button is pressed by a team member who may require emergency assistance.
    * If you're interested in learning more or want to fit Panic Buttons into your fleet, please contact your Argus Account Manager. 

  • Temperature Alert (Temperature Sensors)
    If your assets are fitted with Temperature Sensors, this alert will notify a user when the recorded temperature falls outside the acceptable range. Simply set the temperature range in the 'low' and 'high' fields when setting up this alert. For example, the below alert will only be generated when the recorded temperature drops below 0°C or is raised above 4°C.

  • Unknown iButton
    This alert will notify a user when an unknown, unregistered iButton is used in a vehicle. 

  • Vehicle Started
    This alert will notify a user when the ignition is switched on in a vehicle.
