How to Update & Reallocate an iButton Tag

If an iButton tag gets lost, needs replacing, or reallocating to a new driver, you will need to update and/or remove the old iButton Tag number assigned to the driver/s. To do this, you will need an iButton Configuration Kit to read and allocate the new tag number, and follow the steps below: 

Updating & reallocating an iButton Tag number:

Step 1: From your Argus Dashboard, head to Settings > Users & Drivers 

Step 2: Find the driver whose iButton Tag number needs replacing or reallocating

Step 3: Click on the blue edit icon to open the editable page on this driver

Step 4: Scroll down to the Driver ID Tag box to delete the old tag number (ensure that the cursor remains in this box for the next step)

Step 5: Use the iButton Configuration Kit to read the new tag number and automatically upload it into the Driver ID Tag box. 

Step 6: When done, click the blue Save button at the bottom of the page. 

Please note: To transfer a Driver ID Tag number from one existing user to another, you must remove the tag number from the current user to reallocate it to a new user.
