User Permissions
The Argus Tracking platform offers different user permission profiles to suit the needs of administrators, office staff, fleet managers, dispatchers, drivers, and reporting-only users. Each profile controls which areas of the platform a user can access.
User Permission Profiles
Administrator
An Administrator has access to all areas of the Argus Tracking platform. This is the only profile with access to Administration Control and account-level settings.
This profile is recommended for the account holder or business owner.
Administrators can:
- Set up and manage users and drivers
- Order new GPS hardware
- Arrange hardware installs or removals through the account portal
- Access all reporting and management tools
- View user activity oversight on the Omni plan, including the last login time for users
Important: Administrators cannot be locked to a group.
If you need a user restricted to certain groups only, assign them one of the other user profiles below.
Power User
A Power User has access to almost everything within the platform, except Administration Control.
Power Users can:
- Access fleet management tools
- Use reporting and operational features
- Order GPS hardware and arrange installations/removals
Everyday User
An Everyday User is the most common user type.
This profile gives access to:
- Dashboard
- Vehicle profiles and assets
- Reporting
- Driver Behaviour
- Geofences
Reporter
A Reporter has limited access focused on reporting functions only.
This profile can access:
- Reporting
- Check Sheet App
- Fleet Managers App
- Notifications
This profile is suitable for users who only need visibility into reports and compliance records.
Spectator
A Spectator can only access Spectate to view vehicle locations live on the map.
This profile is useful for office staff needing to:
- See where vehicles are in real time
- Dispatch the closest vehicle
- Run a quick Stop Report for the previous 24 hours
Spectators also have access to:
- Vision AI
- Check Sheet App
- Fleet Managers App
- Notifications
Compliance
The Compliance profile is designed for mechanics and maintenance personnel.
This profile includes access to:
- Fleet Management
- Check Sheet App
- Fleet Managers App
- Notifications
This allows users to monitor servicing, maintenance schedules, and compliance requirements.
Dispatcher
A Dispatcher has access to Job Management tools.
This profile is designed for users who:
- Allocate jobs
- Dispatch drivers
- Manage job addresses and schedules
Dispatchers also have access to:
- My Assets
- Spectate
- Vision AI
- Check Sheet App
- Fleet Managers App
- Notifications
Driver
A Driver only has access to the Argus Check Sheet App.
Drivers do not have access to the Argus Tracking web platform.
Custom User Profile
A Custom User Profile allows administrators to enable or disable specific platform features based on the individual user’s requirements.
This profile is ideal when a standard permission profile does not fully suit the user’s role.
Administrators can customise access to features such as:
- Dashboard
- My Assets
- Reports
- Driver Behaviour
- Geofences
- Fleet Management
- Job Management
- Settings
- Spectate
- Global Offroad Geofences
- Vision AI
This flexibility allows businesses to provide users with access only to the tools they need while maintaining tighter control over account permissions.
Note: Custom profiles can only be configured by an Administrator.
